The lockdown in the U.K. was lifted on 17th May 2021. This means that pubs, restaurants and cafes are able to serve the drinks and foods inside and people can embrace the loved one from other household for the first time in more than a year

Having said that, however, another Indian strain of coronavirus has emerged in U.K. now . This Indian variant is said to be 50 per cent more transmissible than the previous strain and spread like wildfire . We are advised to remain cautious about this new variant .

It was reported that ministers called on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to reject the comments from the scientists that the lockdown should remain in place because of the new Indian variant and Prime Minister lifted the lockdown. All pubs , restaurants and hotels are now able to reopen the business

This is the brief situation with regard to the lockdown in U.K.
